By various chromatographic methods, seven known diterpenes, including two tricyclic-diterpenes containing a tropone ring (1 and 2) and five 11(15→1)-abeo-taxane diterpenes (3−7), were isolated from the methanol extract of the stem bark of Taxus wallichiana Zucc. The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were confirmed by ESI−MS, 1D, and 2D NMR as well as by comparison with the literatures. All isolated compounds were tested in vitro for their cytotoxic activity against the HepG2, SK-LU-1, MCF-7, LNCaP, and SK-Mel-2 human cancer cell lines. Among them, compounds 1 and 2 showed cytotoxicity against all tested cancer cell lines, with IC50 values ranging from 17.8 to 61.5 μM.
