Nine compounds (1 - 9) were isolated from bulbs of Allium ascalonicum. Their chemical structures were identified using spectroscopic methods (NMR and MS) and comparison with literature data. These compounds are protocatechuic acid (1), trans-N-coumaroyltyramin (2), 5,7-dihydroxy-2-heptacosanyl-benzopyran-4-one (3), quercetin (4), quercetin 4ʹ-glucopyranoside (5), isorhamnetin (6), isorhamnetin 4ʹ-glucopyranoside (7), (22R,25S)-spirost-5-en-1β,3β-diol 1-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (8), and (22R,25S)-spirost-5-en-1β,3β-diol 1-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranoside] (9). This is the first report about the presence of compounds 2, 3, 8, and 9 from A. ascalonicum.
