From the methanol extract of the Dietzia sp. G727 derived from the seaweed Lobophora sp., seven compounds were isolated including staphylopeptide A (1), cyclo-(L-Pro-L-Asn) (2), cyclo-(L-Pro-L-Ser) (3), cyclo-(L-Pro-L-Thr) (4), cyclo-(L-Ala-4-hydroxy-L-Pro) (5), adenine (6) and adenosine (7). Their structures were elucidated by the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy (MS) and comparison with the reference data. Compounds 3, 5 and 6 showed good antimicrobial activity against Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans with the MIC values in the range from 32 to 128 µg/mL. In addition, only compound 6 inhibited Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli with a MIC value of 64 µg/mL. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the isolation of staphylopeptide A from Dietzia genus.
